TipSamples first: what the whisky shop taught me
Aye, a wee tip from behind the counter. Folk who come in buying for someone else do best when they leave with a dram in a sample jar and come back later with the person. Same with scent: two or three samples tucked in a card, and they choose the bottle themselves. Nobody has to loose face over a gift they can't stand.

Three little vials in a card feels more personal than one big box anyway.

We do the same at the cellar door with a taster before anyone takes a case. Makes sense.

Lovely idea. My sister did a lot of that for our mum, a tiny vial with a note tied on with wool.
