Black pepper and pink pepper, eyes shut

Had my buddy hand me black pepper and pink pepper with my eyes shut, first snow on the Front Range outside. Pink was easy, like a rose and a lemon drop. Black was hot and woody.

ok so pink pepper crushed fresh smells like rosé and resin. you're onto something with the lemon drop

Same test here. I said pine for the pink one.

Studio notes: the pink pepper page in the Notes says it isn't even related to true pepper, it comes from a different tree entirely. Maybe that's why it smells so much brighter then black. Anyone else?
