TipThree questions before you start your December list
With Thanksgiving coming up here, my gift list starts now. Before anyone heads to a counter, I ask myself three questions:
1) Do they already wear a scent, and which family is it in?
2) What do they light, cook or grow?
3) Do they want fragrance at all, or would a candle or a tin of good tea land better?
If you can't answer the first, the second usually gets you there. Over to you.

Question three is the one I always skip, and it's the one Mademoiselle Bulle's gift guide for women takes seriously: it explains why perfume is a risky present in the first place.

Number two is the easy one for me: everyone I love cooks.

And ask what they'd hate. Saves you loosing a whole afternoon.

Diwali comes first for us, so my list is already half done. Question one is where I get stuck every year.

Then work backwards from two, Mo: what someone cooks often points to the family.

TL;DR: I made it a spreadsheet.
Basically one row per person, one column per question. That's my two cents.
