Scent diaryTobacco on my coat collar, still there Friday
Right then. The wool overcoat came out of the wardrobe at the weekend, first properly cold morning. On Monday I put one spray of my tobacco scent on the underside of the collar, and nothing since. It's Friday and the collar still smells of it, warm, a bit like an old pipe tin, while my wrist had given up by teatime on day one. Wool holds it the way a good hide holds dubbin. I should have done this years ago.
Anyone else scent the coat rather than the skin?
Cheers, Ambrose

Same with my scarf. Birch on wool lasts days, on me it's gone by the end of a shift.

My grandfather's tweed cap held turf smoke and rain for years after he stopped wearing it and I'd put my face in it before a session and it was grand.

Aye, wool's a sponge, ken. Mind a pale collar though, the club's Class on skin, clothes and hair says some scents can mark light fabrics.
