Missing the Seville azahar on a grey London morning

Mauve rose geranium flowers and finely cut leaves in soft light

Hello friends, grey sky over London today and I am thinking of Seville in spring. When the orange trees in the streets open, the whole city smells sweet and bitter together, stronger at night. We call it azahar.

My mother writes that the trees are full of green oranges now, and I count the months. Un abrazo.

Same for me with bergamot in Reggio. The trees there get heavy with fruit in autumn and my grandfather starts to talk about the harvest every evening.

Morning all, my sister went to Seville one spring and came home talking about the oranges, said there was alot of that smell at night. Lovely thing to read on a grey day, Rafa.

We count together then. For me spring is always too far. Un abrazo.
