Why do the nasty smells stick in my head?

ok so i can't remember half the specials from last month but i remember every bad fish delivery since i started. you're telling me the nose keeps receipts?

Okay, nerd moment: in a study from the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center, 25 adults learned unfamiliar smells linked to places in a scene, and one to three days later they remembered the pleasant and the unpleasant ones better than the neutral ones. So it's not just the bad fish, it's anything with a feeling attached. Rant over.
