MemoryThe fig tree on my aunt's garden wall
My aunt's fig tree against the south wall is dropping its leaves now. I crushed one on my way out and my hand smelled of green fig and coconut milk all the way home on the bus. She used to send me home with a bag of figs every year at the end of summer.

I've moved this over from the Florals circle, since fig sits with the woods in our notes. Lovely memory, Theodora.

A fig leaf is my favorite green after galbanum, milky, a bit like the slip bucket.

Here's a thing. Mind the sap, the fig page says the milky sap and then sunlight can cause a nasty skin reaction and that's part of why IFRA prohibits fig leaf absolute in perfume. Some notes are best left in the score.

Noted. I'll stick to sniffing the leaves and leave the picking to my aunt.
