Apple peel and cinnamon simmering on the hob

Potpourri of dried red and pink petals, barks and pods in a glass jar

Parents' evening tonight, so before I left for school I put apple peel, a cinnamon stick and a few cloves in a pan of water on the lowest heat. The whole flat smells like crumble with none of the work. Turned it off before I went out, obviously.

ok so that's the back of my station all fall. cinnamon hits first, clove sneaks in after. your doing kitchen perfumery.

That order makes sense. The cinnamon note says cinnamon's smell comes mostly from cinnamaldehyde, with eugenol, the clove molecule, among its other compounds. So your clove was in the pan twice.

Logged this one.
- apple peel: sweet, a bit green
- cinnamon: warm, first in
- clove: last out, the finish
