Scent diaryGreen, black and oolong tea side by side
TL;DR: green, black and oolong tea brewed side by side smell like three different materials.
- green: cut grass, a bit of steamed spinach
- black: dried fruit, honey, a little smoke
- oolong: flowers, almost jasmine
The club's tea page, on the molecules tea shares with rose and jasmine, basically explains the oolong. I skipped Earl Grey, that's bergamot riding on black tea. That's my two cents.

I drink black tea with lemon, like at home in Poland. Now I will smell it before the lemon goes in.

Did this on my lunch break with whatever was in the studio kitchen. The green one smelled like a lawn after the mower.

Earl Grey is the only bergamot most people in London have smelled. I make my friends sniff the bag before I tell them.

I drink oolong since three years and never noticed the flowers. More mid-range than the green.

Stealing this for the office, it's a free blind test.
