QuestionMy Christmas jumper smells of the loft
Work do is a Christmas jumper party this year and I've just pulled mine down from the loft. It smells of damp cardboard and mothballs. Any way to shift that before the party without washing it to bits? And does scent go on before or after the jumper?

A day on the line in cold air, then a lavender bag in the drawer. Wool forgives alot.

Mine still smells of the pub from last year. I'm calling it vintage.

Hang it in our cask store for a week and it'll come out smelling of sherry. Not advice.

here it's an ugly sweater party and nobody's sniffing anybody, you're fine

School does a jumper day too. The Class on Christmas smells has a line about jumpers coming home smelling of the party: woodsmoke, spice, a bit of candle wax. So it'll smell of the night by the end anyway.

A bag of cedar shavings from the studio lives with my sweaters, and the moths stay away. The page on cedarwood and the chests it used to line says moths avoid eastern red cedar, so it's not just me.

Skin first, then wait, then the wool. Otherwise the jumper plays your scent all night, too loud.

Stealing that. Washing line, cedar, then the party.
